About Full Curl Plumbing & Heating

Flathead Valley’s Family-Owned Plumbing Experts

At Full Curl Plumbing & Heating, we’re more than a plumbing company. We’re a family-run business rooted in craftsmanship, honesty, and a whole lot of experience earned the long way.

Our Story: From Subsistence Hunting to Skilled Craftsmanship

Zach, our founder and licensed master plumber, started in the trades at just 17 years old in Juneau, Alaska.

His first motivation? To afford the gear he needed for subsistence hunting - an essential part of his upbringing and a tradition he continues to this day, providing meat for our family and many others.

That same drive and discipline carried him through one of Alaska’s most competitive union apprenticeship programs, where he was one of just two selected out of over 100 applicants.

Over the next two decades, Zach earned a reputation as a problem-solver and leader, working on pipeline welding, steam systems, breweries, military bases, and large-scale construction across the state. He’s run crews, swapped boilers in below-zero temps, and built systems that many plumbers won’t touch.

Plumbing with Purpose, Built as a Family

When we launched Full Curl, we did it as a team. In 2016, after the shop Zach worked for closed, we decided to stop building someone else’s dream and start building our own.

Over the last decade we raised our kids while running the business - Zach in the field and Mary managing the books, calls, and communication.

It wasn’t always easy, but we’ve learned a lot and stayed true to what matters: quality work, good relationships, and doing right by people.

How Full Curl Got Its Name

Circular logo with the words 'Full Curl Pulm B & Heating' around the edges. Inside, an illustrated ram's skull with curled horns and a ram's head profile. Plumbing and Heating company in Whitefish, Montana.

We named our business after a symbol that holds deep meaning for us: the Dall sheep with a Full Curl horn. In Alaska, a ram must have a full 360-degree curl before it can be legally harvested - a sign of maturity, strength, and earned experience.

That curl represents what we value in this work: doing things right, respecting the land (and your home), and always showing up prepared.

Our Work in the Flathead Valley

Now based in Northwest Montana, we bring that same work ethic and high standards to every job, whether it’s a full plumbing rough-in and top notch finish work for a custom home, a radiant heat install, a tricky boiler swap in a tight space, or helping a neighbor figure out why their hot water runs cold.

We’re not a big outfit. We’re not a 24/7 call center. But if you’re looking for thoughtful plumbing done by someone who cares about the outcome (and explains what’s going on behind the walls!), you’ve found the right crew.
